1 Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using MamaVoice Companion, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time, and your continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2 Eligibility

MamaVoice is intended for use by adults aged 18 and over who are pregnant, new mothers, or caregivers of newborns. By using this service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, you are using the service for lawful health information purposes, and you reside in a jurisdiction where this service is legally accessible.

3 User Responsibilities

You are responsible for: maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials; all activities that occur under your account; providing accurate and up-to-date health information when prompted; using MamaVoice as a health information tool rather than a replacement for professional medical care; and complying with all applicable laws. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised account use at support@mamavoice.africa.

4 Acceptable Use

You may use MamaVoice solely for lawful personal health information purposes. You agree not to: use the service to harass or harm others; attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems; use automated bots or scrapers; reproduce or commercially exploit our content without permission; upload malicious code or viruses; impersonate other users or MamaVoice staff; or use the service in a way that could damage or overburden our infrastructure.

5 AI-Generated Medical Guidance Disclaimer

IMPORTANT: MamaVoice uses artificial intelligence to provide maternal health information for educational purposes only. This does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. AI-generated responses are based on general health guidelines and may not apply to your specific situation. Always consult a qualified doctor, midwife, or healthcare professional before making medical decisions. MamaVoice expressly disclaims any liability for health decisions made based solely on AI-generated content.

6 Emergency Medical Situations

⚠️ MamaVoice is NOT an emergency medical service. If you are experiencing a medical emergency — including severe bleeding, sudden severe headache or blurred vision, signs of preeclampsia, difficulty breathing, loss of consciousness, reduced fetal movement, severe abdominal pain, or any life-threatening condition — call emergency services (112 in Nigeria) or go to your nearest hospital IMMEDIATELY. Do not rely on MamaVoice for emergency guidance.

7 Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of MamaVoice — including text, graphics, logos, software, and their arrangement — are the exclusive property of MamaVoice Technologies Ltd, protected by Nigerian and international intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or commercially exploit any content from MamaVoice without our express written permission. You retain ownership of any personal health data you submit.

8 User-Generated Content

By submitting content to MamaVoice — including questions, feedback, health data, and profile information — you grant MamaVoice a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, store, and process that content solely for providing and improving our service. We will never identify you personally in any publicly shared content. You represent that any content you submit does not infringe on third-party rights and is not illegal, harmful, or misleading.

9 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, MamaVoice Technologies Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, health outcomes, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the service; any AI-generated health information; unauthorised access to your data; or any other matter relating to the service.

10 Service Availability

MamaVoice strives to maintain high service availability. However, we do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free at all times. We may suspend access for maintenance, security updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for loss or damage resulting from service interruptions. Always have an alternative contact with your healthcare provider for critical health needs.

11 Account Termination

You may terminate your MamaVoice account at any time through the app settings or by contacting support@mamavoice.africa. Upon termination, your account data will be deleted within 30 days. MamaVoice reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately without notice if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent or harmful behaviour, or pose a security risk to our systems or other users.

12 Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration in Lagos, Nigeria, in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act.
